There’s More Than One Way

There’s More Than One Way

Sometimes I get stuck in my thinking. I’m so used to how I’ve always done things …so trusting of certain resources …so sure that I’m right …or so wanting to avoid conflict.

So… I just continue doing or thinking the same old way. I don’t even question the sanity of this behavior. It’s NORMAL. We all do it.

Then, every once in a while, I see something that jolts me awake. That tells me I haven’t considered other options …ones that could lead to better outcomes.

That’s exactly how I felt when I saw this video:

I had absolutely NO idea that there were so many ways to tie your shoes.

But is one way any better than the other? I suppose it depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.

Which gets us back to our own lives. Rather than arguing about what’s the right way, what would happen if we explored more options?

Or, if we asked questions like:

  • How else could we tackle this challenge?
  • Who else is focused on this challenge?
  • What’s working/not working for them?

Or maybe even more importantly, if we started with this question: “What are we really trying to create?”

Not fix. Create.

It’s a whole different mindset that opens the doors to even more AND better possibilities.
